BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REP - Massachusetts

Must be located in the Greater Boston Area

Objectives of this Role

  • Managing both our existing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities
  • Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Track performance and report metrics

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador of Copia familiarizing potential customers with the organization in assigned territory of E Coast
  • Responsible for finding opportunities within territory and initially qualifying same, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals inline with strategies
  • Conduct consistent outreach to new and potential customers/vendors in search of equipment, auction opportunities, and services
  • Research potential leads, cold calling, emailing, attending local networking events, and follow-up
  • Utilize lists of companies to reach out to on a daily basis
  • Tapping available resources to source and win deals
  • Achieves a target acquisition amount per month and quarter
  • Accurately and timely tracks activity daily using tools provided
  • Helps to obtain photos of equipment for purposes of submitting quality bids for acquisition
  • Gather data to enable equipment to be valued
  • Forwards sales leads to Sales Executives timely and with comprehensive information validating the leads
  • Attend networking events
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
  • Ability to Travel up to 20% of the time

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or management or (2) Years of Relevant Experience
  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working experience with sales techniques
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Physical: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM software
  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • Background in working with Laboratory Equipment or the greater Scientific Community

SERVICE ENGINEER/TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE JOB
Copia Scientific, located in Taunton, MA, a fast growing, fast paced provider of strategic technology solutions is seeking an experienced service engineer for both field and in-house service of laboratory instrumentation. Copia is a provider of new and certified pre-owned products and services.

FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the qualified person will provide technical evaluation and repairs on various biomedical lab and research equipment using common hand tools, meters and testing equipment. Service is provided in-house and on-site to Copia’s customers throughout the United States and Canada. Experience in mechanical, electronics, pneumatics, and computer-based applications are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide in-house and on-site field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of laboratory equipment.
 Maintain and manage service records & documentation.
 Provide prompt and professional telephone technical support & customer service.
 Provide product and technical training to other service engineers.
 Provide on-site and in-house product demonstrations when required.
 Maintain and manage service related tools & equipment.
 Research product designs and capabilities.
 Apply and develop time saving, cost effective service and quality assurance procedures.
 Attend technical training courses and trade shows if required.
 Must be available for travel domestically up to 30% of the time.


REQUIREMENTS
 Degree/professional training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry/Biology experience, or other related fields.
 Experience in repairing & maintaining lab equipment & systems.
 A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience.
 Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent, Beckman, Tecan, BioTek, Caliper, Kendro, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Thermo, Velocity 11, Zymark, etc.).


ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
 Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.
 Knowledge in systems integration and knowledge of programming languages.
 Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is helpful.
 Organizational and time management skills.
 Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well in a team environment.
 A willingness to be flexible and learn various product & system types is a must.
 Military background is a plus.

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN (ALL LEVELS)- Massachusetts

Job Title:  We are currently seeking all levels of Field Service Engineers / Technicians for immediate hire with industry related service or support experience at the following levels.  Salary will be based on experience.   

Entry Level (Recent graduate, intern experience, part-time, under 3 years)

Mid-Level (A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience)

Senior Level (10 plus years of industry related service and support with Supervisory or management experience)

MECHANICAL DESIGN/SYSTEMS ENGINEER I - Massachusetts

Job Title: Mechanical Design/Systems Engineer I

Reports To: Director of Technical Services

Department: Engineering & Manufacturing

Summary: 

Responsible for supporting service, sales, & manufacturing operations for a laboratory equipment provider.   Provide design improvement and new product development functions as well as the production of 3D or machined parts.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks solid modeling CAD software
  • Create 2D and assembly drawings
  • Capable of working independently or with a team
  • Work with manufacturing and update models and drawing per feedback
  • Work with senior and technical staff on new or existing designs
  • Design, setup and conduct testing to qualify prototype components and assemblies
  • Assist with verification and validation of designs through hands-on testing and analysis
  • Light assembly of components and subassemblies
  • Support Equipment sales and service
  • Support customers with technical troubleshooting or problem solving as needed
  • Develop process & instruction manuals as needed
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time
