SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ENGINEER
ABOUT THE JOB
Copia Scientific., located in Taunton, MA, a fast growing, fast paced provider of strategic technology solutions is seeking an experienced service engineer for both field and in-house service of laboratory instrumentation. Copia is a provider of new and certified pre-owned products and services.
FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the qualified person will provide technical evaluation and repairs on various biomedical lab and research equipment using common hand tools, meters and testing equipment. Service is provided in-house to Copia’s customers throughout the United States and Canada. Experience in mechanical, electronics, pneumatics, and computer-based applications are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide in-house repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain and manage service records & documentation.
- Provide prompt and professional telephone technical support & customer service.
- Provide product and technical training to other service engineers.
- Provide in-house product demonstrations when required.
- Maintain and manage service-related tools & equipment.
- Research product designs and capabilities.
- Apply and develop time saving, cost effective service and quality assurance procedures.
- Attend technical training courses and trade shows if required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/professional training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Chemistry/Biology experience, or other related fields.
- Experience in repairing & maintaining lab equipment & systems.
- A minimum 1-3 years of industry related service or support experience.
- Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent, Beckman, Tecan, BioTek, Caliper, Kendro, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Thermo, Velocity 11, Zymark will be helpful)
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.
- Knowledge in systems integration and knowledge of programming languages.
- Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is helpful.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- A willingness to be flexible and learn various product & system types is necessary.
- Military background is a plus.

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN (ALL LEVELS)- Massachusetts
Job Title: We are currently seeking all levels of Field Service Engineers / Technicians for immediate hire with industry related service or support experience at the following levels. Salary will be based on experience.
Entry Level (Recent graduate, intern experience, part-time, under 3 years)
Mid-Level (A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience)
Senior Level (10 plus years of industry related service and support with Supervisory or management experience)

Copia Scientific is located in the Myles Standish Industrial Park directly off Interstate 495 in Taunton Mass, which has been designated as a Bioready Community with Platinum Status by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. We are provider of strategic technology solutions offering sales and service of certified pre-owned laboratory automation and instrumentation to various research organizations in the Biotech, Life Science and Drug Discovery industries.

- Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent Velocity 11, Beckman Coulter, Caliper Zymark, Eppendorf, Hamilton, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Tecan, Thermo, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES (Varies based upon experience level)
- Provide in-house and on-site field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of laboratory equipment

- Provide on-site and in-house product demonstrations when required

- Must be available for travel domestically for field service as needed
