Formed by industry experts with more than 40 years of combined experience, Copia specializes in liquid handling, laboratory automation, microscopy, flow cytometry, detection technologies, and more along with a suite of asset management services including auctions and asset disposition solutions.  Headquartered in Massachusetts, Copia offers field service and maintenance nationwide along with method development to support a wide range of instrumentation.

The Copia Scientific Corporate Headquarters is based in the Myles Standish Industrial Park in Taunton Mass, directly off of Interstate-495. We are located in the newly developed Bioready Community for Life Science & Technology Development. The Copia team invites you to visit our new 22,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, where you will find an extensive inventory of high quality used laboratory equipment and supplies from a wide range of manufacturers such as Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman Coulter, and many more.

Our Management Team:

 

Rich Tula, Chief Executive Officer : Rich Tula is the former CEO and co-founder of Biodirect, Inc., a biotech equipment reseller established in 2002. Mr. Tula has extensive expertise in mechanical engineering, product development, technology assessments, asset and risk management, and technical support processes. Prior to Biodirect, Mr. Tula was a managing partner at Biomatic Technologies Inc. (BTI), where he developed the key "one source" business model. BTI was acquired by Perkin Elmer in 2005. Prior to BTI, Mr. Tula was the International Marketing Manager for Comdisco's Lab and Scientific Group (CLSG), a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. He has over 22 years experience in federal, biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical business markets. Mr. Tula has also written technical papers on laboratory related technologies, and has been a national speaker regarding asset management, risk and lifecycle management, laboratory workflow efficiency, and facility security.

Mr. Tula has a biomedical engineering degree from the Community College of the Air Force, Colorado Community College, and Pierce College. He volunteers with inner city kids helping with personal growth and education. In addition, he donates equipment for the establishment of molecular biology labs for high schools. Mr. Tula is also an avid proponent of environmentally-friendly "green" building technology.

Bryan Hoffman, Chief Revenue Officer: Bryan brings more than 15 years of experience in the life science industry, having previously served as CEO of Boston Microscopes. Before founding Boston Microscopes, Bryan was the Chief Operations Officer for Arsenal Lab Space and Director of Sales at Cambridge Scientific. Bryan serves on the Board of Directors for Outbio and is a Cornell University graduate in the Life Sciences.

The Copia team invites you to visit our new 22,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, where you will find an extensive inventory of high quality laboratory equipment and supplies. Copia Scientific specializes in purchasing, refurbishing, certifying, and reselling state-of-the-art, high-throughput screening, lab automation, and detection systems including; HTS, laboratory automation/robotics, liquid handlers, detection systems, microplate handlers and storage, microplate labelers, microplate readers, microplate sealers, microplate washers, centrifuges, dispensers, and PCR/DNA/RNA technologies. You can call ahead if you would like to view specific items that you need.

Testing Lab:

Copia maintains a comprehensive testing lab where every piece of equipment, from liquid handlers to laboratory workstations, will endure assessment, quality testing, refurbishment, and certification. The state-of-the-art, high-throughput screening process ensures unsurpassed quality, giving you peace-of-mind in your purchasing decision.

Training Lab:

In addition, Copia maintains an expansive viewing room for presentations, training, and review and validation of equipment prior to purchase. We make every effort to ensure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase.
