Affordable and user-friendly image splitter that enables two-camera, simultaneous dual-emission imaging from a single microscope port
The TwinCam LS Image Splitter has been designed as a convenient solution for simultaneous two-channel imaging without sacrificing field of view. Traditionally, multi-wavelength imaging experiments required that multiple images be captured sequentially. However, because the various images were not taken at the same time, temporal artifacts, caused by intracellular movement, often appeared between exposures. To eliminate these temporal artifacts and provide the most accurate measurements, the TwinCam LS allows two images to be acquired simultaneously.
This image splitter enables pixel alignment between two cameras coupled to a single microscope port. The base unit accommodates a standard Cairn filter cube allowing light to be distributed on the basis of wavelength, polarization state, or focal depth. Each cube has fine mechanical X-Y adjustment for pixel overlay or deliberate image offset. The input of the instrument has a variable rectangular aperture enabling the use of cropped sensor mode on both detectors.
